A retired Beacon police officer was detained in a shooting on Rombout Avenue in Beacon Monday night.
Police say a retired Beacon police officer was involved in the incident, which happened shortly after 9 p.m.
The department says it received a call from a man reporting he had shot his roommate.
Responding officers determined the retired officer was one of the people involved and immediately detained him.
Beacon police say they turned the investigation over to New York State Police to maintain integrity.
