On Tuesday night, dozens of Yorktown residents attended the board meeting to share their thoughts on a proposed cell tower in the area.

The installation, planned for Granite Springs Road, aims to address gaps in cellular coverage identified in a Westchester study.

Some residents acknowledge the need for improved services. Others say they are worried about other potential impacts, like connectivity and harm to wetlands.

The project is being advanced by Homeland Towers. The town says it selected the proposed site after following legally required steps.

No decision was made Tuesday night. The town supervisor said additional meetings will need to be had before they're ready to vote.

The law firm representing Homeland Towers was in attendance, listening to resident concerns.
