Hudson Valley Muslims celebrated the end of Ramadan Monday.
The annual observance of Ramadan is considered one of the five pillars of Islam, and culminates a month of fasting every day from dawn until sunset.
The celebration drew hundreds of Muslim men, women and children to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Downtown White Plains for prayer and fellowship.
Organizers say while they enjoyed the services, the current unrest in the Middle East is heavy on the minds of those who attended.
In addition to the prayers, sermons and self-reflection, the children receive toys, balloons and treats.
