Complaints by Parkchester residents have prompted a investigation by the city's Department of Health into a local restaurant's practice of hanging dead fish on rope in a back alley. "It was disgusting, it was unsanitary, how people can put fish outside and then put it in someone's food," says a local resident who lives near Chinese and Fresh Taco Restaurant, the eatery on White Plains Road. The Department of Health says it's unlawful to keep food unprotected from contamination and at unsafe temperatures, but has yet to issue a violation pending an inspector's visit.
