Young residents at a JCCA residential foster care program in Pleasantville gathered on Wednesday for Juneteenth celebration.
The fun-filled afternoon included musical performances, bouncy houses, photo booths, an obstacle course, an outdoor barbecue and a dunk tank.
Rapper and musician Jim Jones also joined the fun and gave some inspirational remarks.
Trevor John, the senior vice president of campus services, says the event is an important gathering for the residents.
"It gives them a sense of belonging, a sense of pride. I think with our kids it's important for them to know their history and know where they are,” he said.
