Reports of gunshots placed a Rockland elementary school in a "safety hold" this morning.
Clarkstown police say emergency procedures were put into place at the Highview Elementary School when sounds similar to gunshots were heard on nearby Church Street.
A "safety hold" means that no one is allowed to go in or out of the school as police investigate.
    No injuries have been reported.
The "safety hold" was lifted shortly after noon as police found no evidence of any gunfire.
