Wappingers Falls in Dutchess took the No. 13 spot on the list due to limited employment opportunities.
Poughkeepsie ranked at No. 6 for the city's economic woes, including high unemployment and nearly 20% of residents living below the poverty line.
The city of Newburgh came in No. 4, facing similar issues of unemployment along with violent crime.
Monticello ranked worst in the state with the highest unemployment rate statewide.
