A decision to fly in poor weather conditions played a role in a fatal plane crash that killed the son of a well-known philanthropist, according to a final NSTB report.
In June 2014, a single-engine plane piloted by Dr. Richard Rockefeller went down minutes after taking off from the Westchester County Airport in Harrison.
The investigation found Rockefeller had an important meeting to attend and he decided to take off despite the rain and fog.
Rockefeller had flown in the day before to attend a birthday party for his father, David Rockefeller.
