The report, which gathered data from 43 EMS service providers in the county, including ambulance agencies and first response agencies, underscores the difficulties faced by Ulster County in maintaining adequate EMS services. While the report primarily focuses on Ulster County, it also highlights that these service challenges are part of a larger national crisis affecting EMS systems across the country.
In response to the findings, officials have proposed seven options to address the health care crisis, ranging from maintaining the status quo to implementing a countywide ALS "fly car" model.
