Rep. Mike Lawler unveiled new legislation Friday to expand access to IVF for families across the Hudson Valley.
Lawler announced the IVF Access and Affordability Act during a press conference.
The legislation will include a tax credit of $20,000 for individuals and $40,000 for couples for assisted reproductive technology expenses.
Lawler says the legislation will provide much-needed relief for those who relying on costly fertility treatments.
"For many, access to IVF is critical towards ensuring they are able to enjoy parenthood and to bring life into this world," he said.
Lawler also expressed his support of the Hope With Fertility Services Act, which requires private insurance companies to cover treatments for infertility.
