Hudson Valley leaders are working in Washington D.C. on alleviating tax worries for families.
Rep. Mike Lawler (R-17) and other state officials introduced the SALT Fairness and Deficit Reduction Act to the House Rules Committee
That act would lift a limit on state and local tax deductions. It would raise the cap to $60,000 for individual filers and to $120,000 for married couples filing a joint return.
Lawler says the SALT cap, coupled with record inflation has made the affordability crisis even worse for Hudson Valley families.
