A Hudson Valley congressman is pushing back against proposed changes to children's school lunch.
Rep. Antonio Delgado responded against New York City Mayor Eric Adams' proposal to remove flavored milk from city schools.
Delgado introduced the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act of 2021, which allows for unflavored and flavored whole milk to be served in school cafeterias.
He says the bill will help students maintain a healthy diet and support dairy farmers.
Over two-thirds of milk served in school is flavored. Studies show eliminating flavored milk reduces milk consumption.
