Westchester, Orange and Rockland County utility customers were in the dark again Wednesday as demand for air conditioning fueled power failures.

Power officials say about 2,100 people were affected at the height of the outage. In Pelham Manor, homeowners say the lights went off without rhyme or reason, with some neighbors spared. Drivers also had to take turns at intersections after traffic lights failed.

While the lights are back on in Pelham Manor, the Village of Hastings remains in the dark.
