The winds go a long way to make the temperatures feel bearable or brutal. The winds were persistently strong early this week but have backed down heading into today. That made going out and about a little bit better. The winds will continue to be on the lighter side for the rest of the day, but that chilly air isn't going away just yet.
Cold temperatures will linger into Saturday. Sunday is when temperatures will be bouncing back towards seasonal levels. Couple that milder temperature outlook with fair skies, and we have one of two picks of the week to talk about. It has been a long time since we talked about that type of day, and we certainty do deserve it.
While temperatures are trending below the freezing point of 32 degrees, the next round of showers will be all snow for Thursday afternoon. Look for the snow to start falling in the afternoon hours, between 2-4 p.m. On and off scattered snow showers are expected along with breezy winds.
The visibility will likely go down if you are on the roads and caught in one of those pockets of snow showers. The snow will be wrapping up around 8-10 p.m. A coating of snow is expected. While that does not sound like much to be worried about, the roads could be slick during the evening rush, especially on those side streets, on/off ramps on the highways.
Monday is the other pick of the week as temperatures will be in the mid-40s with a southerly breeze and a mix of sun and clouds. Enjoy it for afterwards, we have a few more shower chances along the way as the month of February comes to a close next Friday. But good news, Spring, is less than 30 days away!
