Candidates for the 19th Congressional District joined fellow Westchester residents on voting lines Tuesday.
Incumbent Rep. John Hall (D-N.Y.) and his opponent Kieran Lalor (R) say large voter turnout is a positive sign for each of them.
"I was at the train station in New Hamburg this morning and everybody who was there, about half the people had already voted,? said Rep. Hall.
Lalor believes voting trends in the 19th District will help give him a victory.
"I think the 19th District is unique in New York, especially in the lower part of New York, more Republicans than Democrats,? said Lalor, an Iraq war veteran. ?You have the Conservative Party, a lot of registration there, so we're getting them all out."
The 19th Congressional District includes five lower Hudson Valley counties, parts of Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess counties, and all of Putnam County.
