A potentially tragic incident was narrowly averted at Pearl River's annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, all thanks to the quick thinking of a local EMS professional.

Lt. Hope Goswick from the Piermont Fire Department sprang into action when she witnessed a parade-goer collapse from sudden cardiac arrest.

With the assistance of the victim's son, Goswick immediately performed CPR until EMS crews arrived to transport the victim to the hospital.

Goswick's swift and decisive actions undoubtedly played a crucial role in saving a life, highlighting the importance of trained professionals in emergency situations.
