The parents of children who attend Greenvale Elementary School in Eastchester have expressed concern about exactly how a second grader died over the weekend.
Lilly Love, 7, died suddenly on Saturday.
News 12 has learned that some parents are so scared about her death that they are refusing to send their children to school on Monday morning.
In a statement posted to Facebook, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Walter Moran III said the school had been contacted by the Westchester County Department of Health following Love's passing.
Officials have also been in direct contact with Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler. They say that Amler assured them that "the Greenvale School is safe for students and staff to return on Monday, and no additional action is necessary regarding the safety of the students, faculty and staff at this time."
The statement goes on to say the school remains in close contact with the county Health Department.
An emergency faculty meeting is scheduled to be held at the school on Monday morning.
Funeral services for Love will be held at the Hitchcock Presbyterian Church on Wednesday in Scarsdale.
