Victims of domestic violence often don't know where to turn for help in their darkest hours. Putnam County is now offering a lifeline for the most vulnerable.
The Putnam County District Attorney’s Office and the Putnam/Northern Westchester’s Women’s Resource Center are forming a domestic violence and sexual violence task force.
The goal is to streamline emergency help.
The task force will also try to help young people understand the early signs of an abusive relationship.
The Putnam Women’s Resource Center served 1,800 residents last year and aims to help more people with countywide partnerships.
