The Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne unveiled his proposed budget for 2026.

The $222 million plan includes a $1 million cut to the property tax levy, which officials say is the largest cut in the county's history.

The budget also directs more than $2 million in new sales tax revenue to go to infrastructure and capital projects.

The sales tax exemption on clothing and footwear purchased in Putnam would be extended to March 2027.
