There is outrage at Purchase College over a student?s program that aired on the campus television station.
The 50-minute show was comprised of host Billy Prinsell in blackface responding to students who were calling in. The calls included comments about blacks, homosexuals and women. The 20-year-old New Jersey native says he was trying to get back at a fellow student for mocking him on his show.
Students called the show offensive and racist. The Purchase Student Government Association, which runs the closed-circuit station, canceled all new programming after the one-time show aired last week. They say there will be no new shows until students created formal programming standards.
