A protest in Eastchester Thursday called for an end to vaccine mandates statewide.
Dozens of parents and community members were at the protest on White Plains Road to push back on vaccine mandates.
Parents of Eastchester schools created a group called SOS OF EASTCHESTER. It stands for Save Our Schools.
Federal health authorities have authorized the Rockland-based Pfizer shot for kids 5 years and up, concluding the shot is safe and saying the benefits outweigh the risks.
But many parents say they want to see the results of long-term data. They say they don't trust the quick process in which the vaccines came out this year. That's why they're hoping to spread the word that it should be their choice to vaccinate themselves and their kids.
Parents and community members say they will continue to gather to advocate for their freedom to choose when it comes to their children.
