Westchester residents attended the first of three public hearings on the proposed county budget Thursday night in New Rochelle.
County Executive Rob Astorino is proposing a nearly $2 billion budget for 2015. The budget calls for no property tax hike for the fifth straight year and a spending increase of only one percent. There are also no layoffs.
People at the hearing say they were concerned about cuts in the budget to child care and after-school programs.
