The Cop Shot Program provides the resources necessary to offer hefty rewards in order to apprehend those responsible when a police officer gets shot at.
The program, run by John Provetto, has been around for over three decades. Provetto has dedicated most of his life to nabbing those who look to harm New York's finest, and says the program's success can be attributed to cold hard cash.
"On the street, money talks," says Provetto. He says the program is also about the care and respect that New Yorkers have for police officers.
Provetto, along with two detectives, hit the street on wheels and on foot Tuesday to staple fliers, hoping to capture the people responsible for critically shooting two officers in the Bronx.
