A professional hockey team is coming to Putnam County.
The State Line Whalers, part of the Federal Hockey League, will be playing over 50 games at Brewster Ice Arena. The team will be a Single A-level professional hockey league, a development ground for players looking to advance their careers.
Team owner Barry Soskin has owned a number of professional teams and says that he plans to keep ticket prices affordable for families.
The season is set to begin at the end of October. For those interested in joining the State Line Whalers, tryouts will be held soon.
