History came to life on Presidents Day in Newburgh as residents got a glimpse of how President George Washington lived when he was a general.
Visitors got a tour of Washington's headquarters, including his home and the general's office. They also heard stories about Washington from reenactors.
The state historic site was Washington's longest headquarters during the war.
He was there from April 1782 until August 1783.
