President Joe Biden is expected to make a visit to the Hudson Valley on Thursday.
Biden will be visiting IBM in Poughkeepsie. He and the company's leaders are going to make a special announcement about the future of the Hudson Valley's tech industry.
Those who will be attending are hoping for some major investment at IBM and other companies in the area. through the CHIPS Act, which Biden signed it into law in August. The law gives companies historically large grants and tax incentives.
"This seems like it's going to be a major investment right here in the Poughkeepsie area," said Poughkeepsie City Council member Evan Menist. "There are a lot of people in the city of Poughkeepsie who could benefit from new jobs and the knock-on effects of growth and the economy."
Biden also plans to attend a reception for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee while in New York.
