President Joe Biden spoke to the nation today about his administration's effort to ease congestion at ports and get supplies moving.
The supply chain issues at clogged ports such as the one in Los Angeles and Long Beach in California have eased up in the past couple of weeks as they operate 24 hours a day, but there are still delays.
And a shortage of truck drivers and other issues have complicated the shipment of products all over the country, including in the Hudson Valley.
Supply chain issues also mean some popular toys and electronics are almost impossible to track down. In addition, officials say “Grinch Bots” are part of the problem.
The automated software works around the clock, snatching must-have products to sell for a premium on the secondary market. Demand this year is higher than ever because of pandemic-related supply chain problems.
Officials say if there's a must-have item you're looking for, you can try to contact stores directly to ask when they'll have it in stock.
