A one-pound baby is now in preschool and ready to help lead a fundraiser for the hospital which saved her life.
Yashwini Bobde was born premature at 26 weeks, and she received advanced care at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, battling heart and lung complications.
Now, she's a healthy preschooler wearing a special sash and crown, and her classmates are honoring her because she's been named an ambassador for the hospital’s 15 annual “Go the Distance Walk."
Yashwin will represent more than 30,000 seriously ill and injured children who have been cared for at Maria Fareri. "They saved her life from the moment we walked through those doors. We tell her she's a shooting star, if took almost 10 years to have her. Maria Fareri never gives up on any child."
The walk is on Sept. 15. For more information on how to help raise money or participate, click here.
