Residents who live on Cottage Road in Valley Cottage say they watched a tree split in half and uproot itself before it landed across one property and on top of a car in the driveway.

Residents who live on Cottage Road in Valley Cottage say they watched a tree split in half and uproot itself before it landed across one property and on top of a car in the driveway.
Homeowner Nicholas Marchese told News 12 he, his wife and two young children just moved in three weeks ago.
"No words can describe when you come to your first home and see a tree on it. The roof's damaged, the sheet rock in my bedroom's damaged, my car is totaled," Marchese said.
The home was unoccupied at the time.
