Some Bedford residents say a downed power line created quite a show during Tuesday?s storm.
Police officials say an afternoon hail storm caused a power line to come down on Green Lane. The line sparked and erupted into flames. As a result of the flames, part of the power line melted into the pavement. Some residents lost phone and cable services as a result of the downed line.
Green Lane was closed as a result of the downed power line, but officials hope to have it reopened Wednesday afternoon. Con Edison crews are working on repairing the line. The highway department must also fix the melted pavement to make it safe for drivers.
