Power & Politics: Temp workers 'Bill of Rights' vote pulled; political rhetoric and the Colorado LGBTQ club shooting

Once again, a vote on the temporary workers’ Bill of Rights was pulled at the last minute in Trenton this week. There are an estimated 130,000 temporary workers in New Jersey, including short-term employees of warehouses like Amazon hired through staffing firms.

The bill’s sponsor state Sen. Joe Cryan (D-Union County) discusses it with Alex Zdan.
Also, five people were killed last weekend by a gunman who entered a Colorado Springs club that has long been a safe haven for the LGBTQ community. Dr. Perry Halkitis, dean of the Rutgers School of Public Health, wrote that "hate is the most significant driver that diminishes public health." He joins this week’s Power & Politics.
