On Nov. 2, newcomer James Nolan surprised the political
world by beating incumbent Democrat Ruth Walter in the 15th District for the Westchester
County Board of Legislators.
But
while Nolan was new to politics, he wasn't unfamiliar to voters who came to
know Nolan in the months and years after his brother, Michael, was shot to
death outside a Yonkers Burger King.
He
has since created the Michael Nolan foundation in honor of his brother. He also
works for the Yonkers School District.
