A fast-moving fire destroyed a home in Pound Ridge Friday morning.
Fire Chief Eddie Trail says the blaze at 52 High Ridge Road was an accidental electrical fire.
"It took the back half of the house. It started on the outside of the house, and started burning in," says Trial.
It took firefighters nearly two hours before the flames were extinguished.
The couple who live in the home were able to escape without injury. Their pet cat died during the incident.
Trail says that precious minutes were lost in replacing a damaged fire hose after it was run over by a car on the street.
The couple will be staying with relatives until permanent living arrangements are made.
