There's new job designed to bridge the gap between the City of Poughkeepsie and its Latino community.
Julee Molina is Poughkeepsie's first bilingual public information officer.
She migrated from Chile to the tri-state and has cemented roots in Poughkeepsie through her involvement in the community.
The city and the school district appointed her to help improve communication and accessibility to the Latino community, something she says she is fully ready for.
"I feel responsible for my people, I feel responsible to help, and if I can keep someone from having that type of terror, from newness, having that indecision or feeling awkward," says Molina
Molina officially started her new position five weeks ago.
Public schools in Poughkeepsie start next Thursday.
