yesterdayA man has been arrested for criminal possession of a weapon, according to the City of Poughkeepsie PBA. Authorities say the received a call around 1 a.m. about a man with a gun in the area of 96 Main Street. When officers arrived, they say they found a person matching the description reported by the caller. Officers say they attempted to make contact with the man, later identified as 23-year-old, David Rosario, but he immediately ran away. During that chase, police say Rosario discarded a handgun before being taken into custody.
Rosario is being held pending arraignment.
