Poughkeepsie City Council Chairperson Sarah Salem resigned on Wednesday.
Salem was convicted of
a DWI crash on Tuesday, which is a misdemeanor.
Over the past few
years, Salem has been vocal about police issues and the police union.
The council vice chair
will assume Salem’s duties until the council meets to appoint a new
chairperson.
