As lawmakers seek to expand the state's coverage of pothole damage, some neighbors are concerned about a pothole in the Fordham area.

The cave-in is located along the 100 block of East 182nd Street in the Bronx. The hole appears to travel deep and is positioned inches away from a parked car.

"I don't know if the ground just caved in or if it's been so old, I don't know. They need to come out and repair it cause that can really cause some major damage,” said one neighbor. “A car might go into it and cause it to go in some more."

It's unclear how long the pothole has been there.

The Department of Environmental Protection told News 12 it will inspect the site.
