A fire gutted an apartment complex in Monmouth County Sunday night.

The fire broke out at Arbor Terrace just off Greens Avenue in Long Branch around 9:15 p.m.

Flames ripped through the roof of the homes as firefighters worked to bring them under control.

It is not known if the apartments were occupied or how many residents were displaced or injured.

There is no word on a cause or where the fire started.
