2h agoAuthorities in Orange County are continuing to investigate a suspected drowning at a back yard pool over the holiday weekend that claimed the life of a child and left an adult in critical condition.
Town of Wallkill Police say an 8-year-old was found partially submerged in the water Sunday night at a home on Fair Oaks Road.
They say 40-year-old Yaw Assad was found in the grass nearby, unresponsive and in critical condition.
Both were taken to the hospital by ambulance – where the child was pronounced dead.
