Heavy rains and strong winds caused major flooding on the Saw Mill River Parkway over the weekend.A quarter of a million dollars was spent to raise part of the parkway earlier this year, but that section of road flooded again Saturday. The stubborn trouble spot is between exits 27 and 29 between Pleasantville and Thornwood. Pleasantville Mayor Bernard Gordon said the work done in May was just a temporary fix. Now, Department of Transportation crews must go back to the drawing board to find a permanent solution. Gordon also says officials are trying to determine if the torrential rain was the only reason for the flooding, or if a blockage downstream played a part.
