State police have arrested and charged a 44-year-old man from Port Jervis for alleged child sex abuse.

The New York state police says they received reports of an adult male engaging in sexual contact with a child under the age of 13. State police say they launched an investigation in conjunction with Orange County Child Protective Services.

The investigation led to the arrest of James Pospisil, of Port Jervis.

Pospisil was arraigned in the City of Middletown. He's being held in Orange County jail without bail.
