Members of the Port Chester Youth Bureau harvested crops that they learned how to grow Saturday at the Village Hall Senior Center.
During the summer, the Urban Garden Project employed and taught urban youth how to become urban gardeners.
The project was funded by the Department of Labor through Westchester County and is a youth-driven initiative.
For eight weeks, a handful of youth gardeners worked on the project and grew hot peppers, bell peppers, various types of tomatoes and callaloo.
Program director Charles Morgan says it not only grows produce, but community leaders.
Everything harvested will be donated to seniors at the center.
