Port Chester police say they pulled a man over for speeding and arrested him after finding an arsenal of weapons in his car.
According to police, 39-year-old Stephen McLeod, of Greenwich, Connecticut, was pulled over when officers noticed he had a Connecticut pistol permit. Police asked him if he had any weapons and McLeod said he did. Officers noticed shell casings on the floor of the car and began a search. Police say they found prescription painkillers, a large number of rifles, pistols and a stun gun disguised as a cell phone.
Police say McLeod gave an unusual explanation and told them he was a special agent doing contract work for the government, a story that did not check out. McLeod is being held in Westchester County Jail on weapons and impersonation charges and for DWAI on drugs. Bail has been set at $100,000.
