Police: Juvenile in custody, charged following Port Chester school threat that resulted in lockout

Port Chester police say they have a juvenile in custody following a threat made to a school in the district Wednesday.

Port Chester police say they have a juvenile in custody following a threat made to a school in the district Wednesday. 
Officials told News 12 that an anonymous call was reported as a threat to shoot up Park Avenue Elementary School.
All district schools were placed on a lockout, and normal classes continued inside.
The lockout was lifted hours later. 
Port Chester students are expected to return to their normal schedules on Thursday morning.
The Port Chester Police Department sent out a statement that said in part, "As stated prior, we take these incidents very seriously. Our Detective's conducted an extensive investigation to locate the caller and gather information to bring this to a successful conclusion. We want to acknowledge the importance of our good working relationship with the School district, Rye Brook PD, and outside agencies working together to make a safe environment for our children."
Police say an increased police presence will be on hand at schools in Port Chester on Thursday.
