Students and staff at a Port Chester school were sent home early Friday due to concerns about the coronavirus.
Parents were left scrambling to pick up students when John F. Kennedy Elementary School closed around 11 a.m.
According to the district, a family member of two students may have been near someone with the coronavirus. Officials say the parents and children reported no symptoms themselves. They say the family did not test positive for the virus.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school was closed so the entire building could be cleaned and sanitized.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at a news conference Friday that New York state has 44 coronavirus cases, up from 22 cases the day before.
