The Port Chester community protested the full closure of salons and gyms due to orange zone restrictions, and now they have the green light to reopen starting Monday.
A protest held last Monday, spearheaded by Nathanael Torres of Bloom Salon, drew dozens of local business owners.
Their call to reopen Port Chester got them a meeting with local officials.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo then announced Friday that salons and gyms in orange zones can reopen with 25% capacity.
Bloom Salons says it's excited to welcome back customers.
As part of orange zone restrictions, indoor dining is still not allowed to reopen.
