In what should have been a busy holiday weekend, Mary Ann's Mexican Restaurant has zero customers, but tons of storm damage caused by Tropical Storm Ida.
Ida’s aftermath is still being felt on North Main Street in Port Chester. Mary Ann's Restaurant was one of the hardest hit by Ida.
Manager Anthony Capone shared, "We were stuck in the restaurant, the fire department had to rescue us out,...we feared we were going to be underwater that night or sleeping on top of the bar."
There is still standing water in the restaurant basement.
On the patio, there is a growing pile of rubble, which includes furniture and other items destroyed when the storm hit Wednesday night.
In January, the restaurant received a coveted 'The Barstool Fund' grant that helped it survive the pandemic.
Now, the owners will need thousands of dollars to rebuild and reopen.
A GoFundMe has been started to help the business.
