A pet poodle is at the center of a dispute that is pitting an elderly woman against a co-op board eager to evict her if she doesn?t ditch her beloved pet.Gloria Scores, 82, wants to stay in her Hilltop Acres apartment but the building?s co-op board sent her an eviction notice set to go into effect Monday if Scores doesn?t get rid of her 7-year-old pet poodle, Joli. Scores has been renting in the building for 44 years and says she was not aware of a no-dog rule. She says the problem started when her grandson moved in over the summer and brought his dog, a boxer, along with him. She says she suspects the board wants her out because they want to sell her rent-controlled apartment. Scores pays $251 a month for her unit. Ken Fingers, an attorney representing the building?s management company, says residents were complaining about the boxer. Scores? grandson moved out two days ago. Lawyers now say Scores and her dog can stay. Scores is demanding an apology.
