A Pomona teenager was arrested Sunday for allegedly attacking his uncle with a machete.
Police say the young man slashed his uncle after a family dispute at 51 Lillian St. According to authorities, the suspect himself made the emergency call after the attack.
The alleged assailant, Nicholas Pasella, faces possible charges of assault and weapons possession. Police say the teen already has a previous arrest for illegal weapons possession.
Haverstraw police and the Rockland County Sherrif's Office remained on the scene throughout the evening collecting evidence. Authorities say they uncovered an entire arsenal of deadly weapons in addition to the machete, including swords and a butterfly knife.
Neighbors aren't surprised by the incident, as they say the residence has a history of disputes.
