More Americans are admitting to experimenting with marijuana, according to a new poll.
A recent Gallop poll finds 44 percent say they've tried the drug.
That's the highest number since they started asking the question in 1969. Only 4 percent admitted to having tried it at that time
Eleven percent of people in the poll say they currently smoke pot. That's up from 7 percent in 2013.
The poll is based on telephone interviews conducted from a random sample of 1,009 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
